Jackson Walnut Park Schools Student Center

Working with the building committee at Jackson Walnut Park School, Walnut Park Montessori School, and the design team, Traverse assisted in the development of a new student center nestled between two historic buildings. As part of phase one, the location of the proposed building would require the replacement of the school's actively used playground. Following the ideals and desires of the Montessori School, Traverse designed a natural playground utilizing the existing topography to develop a multi-faceted play area including a music area, sand-water area, rock climbing, rope climbing and a performance stage.
