East Greenwich, Rhode Island

Overview

When purchased, the property surrounding this home was fully enveloped by trees and underbrush. Taking care to maintain as many of the mature oaks as possible, new outdoor living areas were carefully planned around the residence. Outside the kitchen, an expansive dining patio was installed overlooking a formal lawn. The lawn and patio are framed with a fieldstone wall and dense plantings, including holly, limelight hydrangea, juniper, and Russian sage.

A more informal patio was created outside the main living room, the centerpiece of which is a steel fire pit surrounded by informal seating and framed by a boxwood hedge, cedar trellis, and Mexican beach pebble. The remainder of the property is rolling lawn shaded by 60’ oaks and seeded with a shade tolerant no-mow lawn mix.
